Interested in doing more to help our great organization? Get involved, we need the
help! The Longhouse Chiefs and the Tribe Chiefs are the heart and soul of the organization. Each Longhouse Chief and Tribe Chief gets to participate in the Ceremonial Fires with their daughters at camps and gets to be an integral part of our great organization. The Longhouse Chiefs and Tribe Chiefs meet as a group once per month and each position should be prepared to give a short, 1-2 minute, recap of what they are working on each month. We have fun at these meetings, we are all friends now because of our roles in the organization. Here are the current Longhouse Chief roles for the Western Reserve Native Sons and Daughters: Sachem - Elder chief (usually the former Longhouse Chief) and adviser to the Longhouse Chief and entire Longhouse Officers and Tribe Chiefs. Picks up the slack anywhere help may be needed. Plans and handles memorial day parade and one other event each year. Sends blast emails to Longhouse and Chiefs as needed. Keep chiefs and LH chiefs moving forward, making sure tribes are organizing/thriving. Posts to Facebook/Instagram social media and actively seeks other opportunities to spread the word about our organization. Sand Painter – In charge of all Philanthropy events, including Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Memorial Day Parade and possibly one other Longhouse event each year (CVNP or local park cleanup, Earth Day senior citizen help, Feed My Starving Children participation, Leprechaun Foundation, or ?)
